The National Quality Council
Welcome to the National Quality Council’s web page.
Overview
The National Quality Council is a Committee of the Ministerial Council for Vocational and Technical Education (MCVTE), and oversees quality assurance and ensures national consistency in the application of the Australian Quality Training Framework standards for the audit and registration of training providers.
It has specific decision-making powers in relation to the endorsement of Training Packages and other aspects of the quality assurance under the National Skills Framework.
The National Quality Council has a key role in bringing together the major players in the vocational and technical education sector - industry, unions, governments, equity groups and practitioners - to oversee and support the current and future quality of vocational and technical education across Australia. It is also critical to ensuring the successful operation of the National Skills Framework – the system’s requirements for quality and national consistency in terms of qualifications and the delivery of training.

NQC Stakeholder and Communication Strategy
The NQC Stakeholder Communication and Engagement Strategy 2008 outlines a high level framework for the council's communication and engagement across all areas of its work in 2008. It includes general guidelines for the Council's communication and engagement with stakeholders and a suite of detailed stakeholder-specific communication and engagement strategies developed in consultation with each stakeholder group (Appendix 2). The high level framework is also designed to inform the development of project specific communication and engagement strategies o be developed as appropriate for individual projects within the NQC 2008 Work Plan.
Since the indicative 2008 NQC Work Plan was endorsed by the Ministerial Council (MCVTE) in July 2008 the NQC has agreed to a number of changes to projects. An updated summary of anticipated stakeholder consultation for projects being conducted as part of the 2008 NQC Work Plan is provided to support the NQC Stakeholder Communication and Engagement Strategy 2008 document.
